Cascais Tourism Forum's mission is to promote the debate on the great forces that drive innovation in the tourism business.
The main objective is to analyze different points of view, discuss the best practices in various fields of innovation, opening space for discussion dynamics around the great challenges and innovation in Tourism.
Promoted by ARHCESMO – Regional Association of Hoteliers of Cascais and Estoril, Sintra, Mafra and Oeiras, the Cascais Tourism Forum has already been held three times, with the aim of themes “Digital transformation in Tourism”, “Knowing how to grow makes Portugal Greater and “Celebrate is the New Cool”. “Sustainability in Tourism. #Timetoact “is the topic that will be debated this year and which will focus on the objectives to achieve climate neutrality and, at the same time, make known the main actions to be implemented in the sector, as factors of competitiveness with a view to creating long-term value. deadline for tourist companies.
In its fourth edition, the importance of the sector's purpose realigned with the ESG challenges will be analyzed, giving a more global view of the stimuli that are placed in the competences and sustainable leadership strategies to manage the climate impact of companies in the sector and give visibility to the financing and investment opportunities.
The success of the last two editions has consolidated the conviction of its importance in professional agenda of the tourism sector.

Cascais Turismo Forum 2022 will feature renowned national and
international speakers that will contribute to analyzing the current moment of Tourism and to a debate around the major challenges of decarbonization in the tourism business.
Carlos Manuel Sales Abade has a degree in Law from the Lisbon International University and an executive master's degree in Finance from the Catholic Lisbon School of Business & Economics. He is a member of the Board of Directors of The Portugal Tourism Office, I.P. He is also a non-executive member of the Board of Directors of ENATUR – Empresa Nacional de Turismo, S.A. and Non-executive member of the Board of Directors of Tourism Funds, SGOIC, S.A. He also serves as Chairman of the Strategic Board of Tourism Funds, SGOIC, S.A., Chairman of the General Board of the Tourism and Cinema Support Fund, Chairman of the General Board of the Revive Natureza Fund, Vice-Chairman of the General Board of FIEAE – Special Real Estate Fund for Business Support, member of the General Council of FCGM – Mutual Counter-Guarantee Fund and member of the General Council of FINOVA – Fund to Support Innovation Financing.
Nuno Miguel Alves is currently the Coordinating Director of the Investment and Competitivity area of the Portugal Tourism Office, responsible for the management of community funds, design and implementation of new financial instruments to support the sector and monitoring of national and foreign investment in the area of Tourism. Previously, he was responsible for the International Relations Institute's area, Director of the Portugal Tourism Office in the United States of America and Canada, as well as assistant to the government member responsible for Tourism in the XVII and XXI Governments.

Bernardo Corrêa de Barros is currently the President of the Cascais Tourism Association. Previously, he was Member of the Board of Directors of the mentioned Association and Assistant to the Vice-President of the Chamber of Cascais. He is also the President of the Sailors of the Sea.

Sérgio Guerreiro is currently Senior Director for Knowledge Management and Innovation at Turismo de Portugal, being in charge of statistics, business intelligence, sustainability, entrepreneurship and innovation. He is also responsible for the program Tourism 4.0, an integrated program to foster innovation in the tourism sector involving more than 350 startups.
He represents Portugal at several international working groups at UNWTO, OECD and European Travel Commission. He is currently Chairman of the OECD Tourism Committee and Chairman of the European Travel Commission’s Market Intelligence Group. He is also World Economic Forum's Agenda Contributor.
Prior to this role, he was Director for Research and responsible for International Affairs.

Susana Macedo, born in Lisbon. Law graduate from the Law School of the Lisbon University (1994-1999) and postgraduate in Political Science and International Relations from the Institute of Political Studies of the Portuguese Catholic University of Lisbon (2012-2014).
Works in the tourism sector since 2007, having served as legal advisor to the Secretaries of State for Tourism of the 17th, 18th and 21st Constitutional Governments (2007-2011 and 2015-2018), and as a jurist at Turismo de Portugal. Since 2018, has assumed the coordination of projects, namely of REVIVE Program, as Head of the Multidisciplinary Team for Crosscutting Projects of the Tourist Offer in Turismo de Portugal.
Previously served as a jurist at the Lisbon Consumer Conflict Arbitration Center (2004-2007) and as a lawyer (2001-2004).

Luís Veiga Martins has a degree in Economics from Universidade Católica Portuguesa, an MBA in Management with a specialization in Marketing, from the same University. He is Associate Dean for Community Engagement & Sustainable Impact and is also Director of Sustainability at Nova School of Business and Economics, Guest Assistant Professor at the same institution, Chair of the PRME (Principles for Responsible Management Education) Chapter Iberia, as well as consulting national and international level. He was General Director of CELPA – Paper Industry Association, General Director of Sociedade Ponto Verde, President of PRO Europe, European Association of Packaging Management Entities. Previously, he was sales director for the Portucel Soporcel group (currently The Navigator Company). His professional experience allowed him to develop a set of skills in terms of Sustainable Development, Corporate governance, business development and international activities, Public affairs, among others.
Bernadett Papp, as a senior researcher at the European Tourism Futures Institute, Bernadett focuses mostly on urban tourism development and related challenges. Besides research, she is involved in education as a lecturer and module coordinator in the tourism management bachelor and master programs of NHL Stenden University of Applied Sciences (Leeuwarden, The Netherlands). She is active in the field of scenario planning and strategic foresight as well. In the past years Bernadett collaborated with various multilateral organisations such as the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) or the European Travel Commission (ETC). She is currently a PhD candidate at the University of Glasgow, Scotland.

The Cascais Tourism Forum is promoted by ARHCESMO – Regional Association of Hoteliers from Cascais and Estoril, Sintra, Mafra and Oeiras, who throughout their 30 years has been defending the interests of the region's hoteliers and fighting for a sustained and sustainable development of tourism in its area of influence.

In Oeiras, the Piscina Oceânica de Oeiras, a saltwater pool, in front of the port recreational facilities in Oeiras, the 4 km from the Passeio Marítimo, and a visit to the Palace Gardens Marquês de Pombal (in front of the City Hall), built in the 18th century by order of the Marquis of Pombal and 1st Count of Oeiras, figure forever linked to the Portuguese history for its decisive role in the reign of King José I, especially after the 1755 earthquake and subsequent reconstruction of the city of Lisbon.
